Procontarinia mangiferae (Felt 1911) - (mango blossom gall midge)

This midge is believed to be native to western Asia and has spread to other regions, e.g. the Reunion Island (Amouroux et al., 2013). It causes galls on mango flowers and young leaves. The larvae go into diapause at the end of the flowering period (Amouroux et al., 2014).
