Crustacea - predators

The group of crustaceans contains more than 50,000, mainly aquatic species. Among others, these include crabs, crayfish, shrimps and forms like barnacles. Some are agricultural pests (see the page on crustacean plant pests for that group). However, a number are also beneficial as predators of mosquito larvae like species of the genus Mesocyclops. This page deals with the latter group.
