The group of Neuroptera includes softbodied insects like lace wings with biting mouthparts and usually long antennae. The wings have many accessory veins. The adults and larvae are carnivorous and the group includes many beneficial species which prey on pest insect.

• Hemerobiidae (brown lacewings)
