Studies on population frequency of insects (Insects) and mites (Acarina) causing galls on the leaves of lime-tree Tilia cordata Mill. southern Poland
Polish Journal of Entomology (Polskie Pismo Entomologiczne) 71, 73-78
Abstract: Species composition of galls on the leaves of Tilia cordata Mill. was analysed in 2001 in three localities: the Wolski Forest - near an urban agglomeration of Kraków, the Ojców National Park and the Andrychów Forest District. A total of 5488 galls, were found. The galls were caused by 7 insect or mite species. The species composition of the galls was similar in three areas. Physemocecis hartigi (Liebel, 1892) was the most abundant species. The index of occurrence frequency and Agrell's index of species co-occurrence have been calculated. The index of occurrence frequency (F) reached the highest value in the case of P. hartigi, namely 1.269, and the lowest value, i.e. 0.0001, for Dasineura thomasiana (Kieffer, 1888) - both from the Wolski Forest. Agrell's index of species co-occurrence reached the highest values; i.e. 0.750, in the case of P. hartigi and E. lateannulatus (Ojców National Park), and the lowest one (0.055) for P. hartigi and Eriophyes lateannulatus (P. Schulze, 1918) (Andrychów Forest District).
