Aphantorhaphopsis samarensis (Villeneuve) (Diptera: Tachinidae), a gypsy moth parasitoid newly recorded from Poland and its relationship with the host and other tachinids
Polish Journal of Entomology (Polskie Pismo Entomologiczne) 71, 101-108
Abstract: During the studies conducted on the gypsy moth populations in Poland in 1998-2000, Aphantorhaphopsis (=Ceranthia) samarensis (Villeneuve), a parasitoid of the gypsy moth, Lymantria dispar (Linnaeus), was found for the first time in this country. Besides the general review of biology and distribution of this species, the paper also presents data on superparasitism and multiparasitism of the parasitoid. Some aspects of the relationship between A. samarensis and the gypsy moth revealed during the laboratory rearing are also described.
