Pestalotiopsis guepinii newly reported to cause dieback on Pistacia lentiscus var. chia in Turkey
Plant Pathology 59 (6), 1169-1169
Abstract: During 2009, Pistacia lentiscus var. chia trees growing in Turkey were observed with symptoms of shoot and twig dieback, necrotic lesions and cankers in the bark as well as discolouration of the wood. The fungus Pestalotiopsis guepinii was isolated from the diseased plants. The identification was based on morphological characteristics. Pathogenicity of the isolates was demonstrated by inoculation and re-isolation.
