Rathayibacter iranicus isolated from symptomless wheat seeds in Turkey
Plant Pathology 58 (4), 796-796
Abstract: During 2003, wheat seed from Turkey were examined for the presence of Rathayibacter species. The bacteria Rathayibacter tritici and Rathayibacter iranicus were isolated from symptomless samples. The identification was based on the nutritional profile and 16s rDNA nucleotide sequencing. R. iranicus has previously only been reported from Iran, causing gumming disease of wheat in association with the nematode Anguina tritici.
