´Candidatus Phytoplasma asteris' in Fraxinus excelsior and its association with ash yellows newly reported in Poland
Plant Pathology 58 (4), 788-788
Abstract: Young ash trees (Fraxinus excelsior) grown in Poland were observed with symptoms of shoot proliferation, leaf rosetting and malformation. The presence of a phytoplasma was demonstrated with PCR analysis using a 16S ribosomal RNA gene primer. The PCR product was cloned and sequenced. Sequence analysis showed 98% sequence identity with those of phytoplasma members of the 16SrI-B sub-group.
