First report of Pseudomonas savastanoi pv. savastanoi causing olive knot in Syria
Plant Pathology 58 (6), 1170-1170
Abstract: During 2007, olive (Olea europaea) trees grown in Syria were observed with symptoms of bacterial knot on olive twigs and branches. An incidence of 70% was observed in one region. The bacterium Pseudomonas savastanoi pv. savastanoi was isolated from the diseased plants. The identification was based on the nutritional profile and PCR analysis. Pathogenicity of the isolates was demonstrated by inoculation and re-isolation.
