New strain of `Candidatus Phytoplasma ulmi' infecting Ulmus minor and U. laevis in Serbia
Plant Pathology 57 (6), 1174-1174
Abstract: During 2007, European field elm (Ulmus minor), and European white elm (U. laevis) growing in Serbia were observed with symptoms of discrete leaf yellowing. The presence of a phytoplasma was demonstrated with PCR analysis using the universal 16S ribosomal RNA gene primer. The PCR product was cloned and sequenced. Sequence analysis showed 99% similarity of these isolates with reference strain EY1T of `Ca. Phytoplasma ulmi'.
