First report of Apricot vein clearing-associated virus infecting flowering apricot (Prunus mume) in the United States
Plant Disease 105 (9 - 2267)
Abstract: During 2018, apricot plants (Prunus mume) grown in California, U.S.A. were tested for plant viruses before being entered into the University of California, Davis collection. The plants had no discernible foliar virus-like symptoms. However, vein-clearing symptoms were observed on leaves of Chenopodium quinoa and C. amaranticolor plants after rubbing them with a homogenate of young leaves. The presence of Apricot vein clearing-associated virus was demonstrated in the examined plants using PCR analysis and nucleotide sequencing.
