First report of Costus stripe mosaic virus infecting Tradescantia spathacea plants in Brazil

Abstract: During 2019, ornamental Tradescantia spathacea plants grown in São Paulo, Brazil were observed with leaf mosaic symptoms. The presence of Costus stripe mosaic virus was demonstrated in the symptomatic plants using electron microscopy, PCR analysis, nucleotide sequencing and indicator plants.
