First report of crown rot caused by Fusarium redolens on wheat in Kazakhstan
Plant Disease 105 (10 - 0015)
Abstract: During 2019, wheat plants grown in Kazakhstan were observed with crown rot symptoms, including discoloration on the first two or three internodes of the stem just above the soil line and stunted, dry rotted, and discolored roots. The fungus Fusarium redolens was isolated from the diseased plants. The identification was based on morphological characteristics and DNA sequence analysis. Pathogenicity of the isolates was demonstrated by inoculation and re-isolation.
