First report of Buxus rotundifolia root and collar rot caused by Phytophthora citrophthora in Italy
Plant Disease 94 (2), 272-272
Abstract: During 2008, ornamental Buxus rotundifolia plants grown in Italy were observed with symptoms of stunting, necrotic bark lesions and leaf chlorosis. The fungus Phytophthora citrophthora was isolated from the diseased plants. The identification was based on morphological characteristics and ITS sequence analysis. Pathogenicity of the isolates was demonstrated by inoculation and re-isolation.
