Fire blight management in the twenty-first century: using new technologies that enhance host resistance in apple
Plant Disease 87 (7), 756-765
Abstract: Fire blight, a bacterial disease caused by Erwinia amylovora, has been known for over 200 years. It infects blossoms, fruits, vegetative shoots, woody tissues, and rootstock crowns of apple and pear. The review on management strategies covers mainly chemical control and resistant cultivars. Important future research areas are discussed.
