Outbreak of Phytophthora foliar blight and fruit rot in processing pumpkin fields in Illinois

Abstract: During 1999, pumpkins (Cucurbita moschata) grown in Illinois, USA were observed with symptoms of foliar blight and fruit rot. The disease incidence ranged from 30 to 50%. The disease was caused by the fungus Phytophthora capsici.
