Pissodes Germar, 1817
This genus contains around 50 species of wood boring weevils that live in the northern hemisphere. Some species have been accidentally introduced into South America and South Africa. Depending on the species, they breed in the shoots, branches or trunks of healthy living trees, sick or dying trees and also in felled trees.
