Occurrence of rust of Sophora flavescens caused by Uromyces sophorae-flavescentis in China

Abstract: In 2012, a rust disease of Sophora flavescens was observed in a production field of Suizhong County in Liaoning Province of China. The occurrence of the disease was severe and reached 100% in one of the investigated fields. On the basis of symptoms, and morphological characteristics of urediniospores and teliospores, the pathogen was identified as Uromyces sophorae-flavescentis Kusano.
