Phthorimaea Meyrick, 1902
This genus of gelechiid moths is widely distributed and includes around 20-30 species. It contains 2 important pest species, the potato tuber moth (Phthorimaea operculella) which infests stored potatoes and the South American tomato moth (Phthorimaea absoluta), an invasive leaf miner of tomatoes.
