Pealius azaleae (Baker & Moles, 1920) - (azalea whitefly)

This whitefly is believed to be native to eastern Asia and has apparently spread with the trade of ornamental azaleas. It is now widely distributed, occurring also in parts of North America, Europe, and Australia. Infestations are restricted to plants of the genus Rhododendron, and it can reach pest status on ornamental azaleas. The yellowish puparia are less than 1 mm long.
