Effect of certain organic amendments on Pratylenchus zeae, root lesion nematode infesting sugarcane
Pakistan Journal of Nematology 24 (1), 97-103
Abstract: Under field conditions the control of Pratylenchus zeae the root lesion nematode on sugar cane cv. GT54-9 was studied by using some organic amendments of cattle, horse, poultry and pigeon manures compared to urea as a mineral fertilizer. The tested materials except horse manure proved to be effective (p< 0.05 and 0.01) in reducing this pest. The degree of nematode reduction varied according to the tested materials. The length and fresh weight of shoots of sugar cane plants significantly (p< 0.05 and/or 0.01) increased in soil amended with organic amendments.
