Opius Wesmael, 1835

This genus of wasps is widely distributed. They are solitary koinobiont endoparasitoids, parasitising leafminers, fruit fly larvae and larvae of other plant-mining flies. Several species are considered to be important biological control agents of pest flies and some are commercially produced.
