Oedothorax apicatus (predator) (Blackwall, 1850)
This tiny spider is found in Europe and surrounding regions, inhabiting grassland and crops. It is polyphagous, preying on various small insects. In cereal fields, it preys mainly on aphids and is regarded as beneficial.
The body length is around 2 mm in males and around 3 mm in females. The prosoma (cephalothorax) is dark reddish brown and the opisthosoma (abdomen) dark grey to black. The legs are yellowish brown and partly orange.
