Ocurrencia de Nacobbus aberrans en cultivos hortícolas del noroeste de Michoacán
[Occurrence of Nacobbus aberrans in horticultural crops in northwestern Michoacan, Mexico]
Nematropica 44 (1), 107-117
Abstract: Nacobbus aberrans sensu Sher occurrence and distribution, as well as its association with soil physicochemical characteristics, were analyzed in the northwest region of Michoacan. Root and soil samples from commercial horticultural crops were collected in 16 counties. Nematode extraction and physicochemical characterization of the soil as well as percentage of galled root were assessed. Nacobbus aberrans was found in Tanhuato, Yurécuaro, and Pajacuarán associated with zucchini (Cucurbita pepo), cucumber (Cucumis sativus), and tomato (Solanum lycopersicum), which had a root gall percentage ranging from 10 to 100%. The most favorable conditions for N. aberrans occurrence where those with a low to medium organic matter content, 20 to 54% of lime, and 18 to 62% of sand. According to the interpolative map, Tanhuato and Yurécuaro constitute the most inductive regions for the occurrence of N. aberrans. Chavinda, Jacona, Tangamandapio, Tangancícuaro, Marcos Castellanos, Chilchota, and Purépero are the counties with the lowest potential occurrence of this pathogen.
