Zum Stand des Aktionsprogramms Ambrosia
[The German Action Programme Ambrosia]
Nachrichtenblatt des Deutschen Pflanzenschutzdienstes 60 (9), 201-204
Abstract: The 'interdisciplinary working group Ambrosia' convened by the Julius Kühn-Institute, Federal Research Centre for Cultivated Plants, has launched an Action Programme Ambrosia early in 2007 in order to prevent further spread of this alien plant that can be an agricultural weed and causes allergies. First results are presented: A nation-wide monitoring has shown that most stands of this plant are small. Larger stands are mostly found in the South, in large cities and in SW Brandenburg. Management and control have taken place and led to the destruction of many ragweed plants. In order to be successful, however, the action programme has to be continued in the near future.
