Nachrichtenblatt des Deutschen Pflanzenschutzdienstes 50 (11), 305-307
Abstract: On the football ground of the Wildparkstadion at Karlsruhe (Baden-Württemberg) heavy infestation by Meloidogyne naasi was recorded in grass covering pitch in 1997. In the present paper, infestation symptoms, results of the investigations and the causes for the nematode occurrence are performed and discussed. The nematode was recorded for the first time 1967 in Germany. During the following years it has been found on cereals and grassland. Grass species, barley, wheat, rye and sugar beet are known to be the most important host plants for the nematode. Potential losses on crops or grass species have not been reported in Germany until now.
