Diaphania hyalinata (Linnaeus, 1767) - (melonworm)

The moth breeds on cucurbits in tropical and subtropical America. The larvae usually feed at the unnderside of the leaves, but can also attack fruits and stems when pupolations are high. Yield losses of up to 10% have been reported. Development from egg, through 5 larval stages, to adult last around 4 weeks.
