Lyctus africanus Lesne, 1907 - (African powderpost beetle)

This powderpost beetle is widely distributed and may be native to eastern Africa. It infests wood products, furniture, dried roots like ginger and dried seeds. Economically significant outbreak have been reported, e.g. in Japan (Furukawa et al., 2009). The adult beetle is around 3-4 mm long and slender.
