Limonius Eschscholtz, 1829
This genus of click beetles contains more than 50 species and is common in North America. Several species are important pests. The larval stages (wireworms) attack the roots of cereals and other crops, or tubers and bulbs (e.g. of potatoes, carrots and onions). The adults may feed on buds and flowers. Economically, the most important species is Limonius canus.
