Parasitism by Diadegma insulare (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) in collard in South Carolina
Journal of Entomological Science 39 (4), 673-676
Abstract: The effect of wildflowers in the vicinity of cabbage plants attacked by Plutella xylostella on the parasitation by Diadegma insulare was studied. At the study site uncultivated wildflowers included crimson clover, cutleaf eveningprimrose and wild radish. Plots with and without wildflowers did not differ in their parasitation rates and the number of Plutella xylostella attacking cabbage plants was higher in the plots associated with wildflowers. In all studied plots parasitation rates ranged from 24 to 66%.
