International Journal of Nematology 18 (2), 235-243
Abstract: Plant parasitic nematodes of the Order Tylenchida found on melon (Cucumis melo L.) growing in Diyarbakir province of Turkey were examined and recorded. This study was carried out in two towns, Bismil and Ergani, important for the cultivation of melon during the summer of 2001-2002. Twenty one species of nematodes were identified. Species identification and ecological and geographical notes on some species are given and species host and distribution in Diyarbakir are discussed. Notes on morphology of Rotylenchulus borealis, which is a new record for Turkey, have been provided. Filenchus cylindricauda, Boleodorus thylactus and Ditylenchus destructor were of common occurrence.
