Life table for Meloidogyne incognita on brinjal
International Journal of Nematology 13 (2), 204-208
Abstract: A life table for Meloidogyne incognita was developed at 25±1°C on brinjal. The mortality rate was high on the first day, low between third to fifth day-and then increased up to the 9th day after the start of the cohort. Egg laying began on the 25th day and was completed by the 29th day. The number of females produced in each generation was 157.11. Mean generation time was 26.5 days. The true intrinsic rate of increase was 0.1918 and the finite rate of natural increase was 0.1908, which indicated that the population multiplied 0.1908 times a day. Doubling time was 3.6139 days which indicated that M. incognita would take about 3.6139 days to double the population. The females laid maximum number of eggs on the first two days (25th and 26th days).
