Predatory mites (Acari) from various crops on Réunion Island

Abstract: A survey of predatory mites collected from various crops on the French island of La Reunion (Indian Ocean) was conducted during the last ten years. Twenty-one species of mites were found -10 Phytoseiidae, 1 Tydeidae, 2 Bdellidae, 2 Cunaxidae, 1 Cheyletidae, 2 Stigmaeidae, 2 Anystidae and 1 Erythraeidae. Taxonomic, biogeographic, biological and ecological aspects are discussed and a distribution map of the three most prevalent species is presented.
