Icerya aegyptiaca (Douglas, 1890) - (Egyptian fluted scale)

This fluted scale insect is found in tropical and subtropical parts of Africa, the Near East, Asia and Australasia. It is of quarantine concern in several regions, e.g. in the Americas or in Europe. I. aegyptiaca is highly polyphagous, infesting fruit trees like citrus or mango, as well as plantation crops like coffee or oil palms.
