Homona magnanima Diakonoff, 1948 - (Oriental tea tortrix)
This tortrix moth is found in eastern Asia. The larvae are polyphagous, but H. magnanima has been mainly reported as a pest of tea bushes in Japan. Leaves are tied together and the larvae feed inside the webbing. The larval development lasts around 1 month, with the young larvae feeding mainly on young leaves and later attack older leaves. There are 4 generations per year in Japan.
The adult moths have a wingspan of around 25 mm and are light brown with darker lines and marks. The forewing edges where the wings meet at rest can be reddish.
