Helicoverpa gelotopoeon (Dyar, 1921) - (South American bollworm)
This moth is found in South America where it is a polyphagous pest, infesting various crops. The larvae often feed on the buds or developing fruits like the pods and seeds of soybean or other legumes. Other crops frequently attacked include cotton, alfalfa, sunflower, chickpea and maize.
