Ectropis grisescens Warren, 1894
This moth is an important pest of tea in southern China with the larvae feeding on the leaves and shoots, skeletonizing them. The damage causes yield and quality losses. E. grisescens is closely related to Ectropis obliqua, another tea defoliator. Both species can be confused in some areas of China, where their distribution overlaps (Wang et al., 2019). In China, E. grisescens is economically much more important and has a wider distribution range than E. obliqua.
