Earias vittella (Fabricius, 1794) - (spotted bollworm)
The moth attacks the young leaves, buds and bolls of cotton in Asia and Australia and is a serious pest in several countries. For example in India more than half of the pesticide applications on cotton are targeted against E. vittella (Kumar and Priyadarshini, 2010). It is also attacks okra and some other crops.
