Earias insulana (Boisduval) - (spiny bollworm)

This moths breeds in the shots, flowers and buds of cotton and occasionally of other crops. On cotton, outbreaks can result in yield losses of up to 50%. Management relies mainly on the use of pesticides. However, insecticide resistance is widespread.
