Earias huegeliana Gaede, 1937 - (rough bollworm)

This bollworm is found in Australia and some Pacific islands. Occasional outbreaks on cotton can be triggered by the populations building up on wild host plants. The larvae attack the squares and young bolls, causing shedding and facilitating the entry of fungal rot. The moth has a length of about 10 mm and is white with a green or brown stripe on the forewings.
