Dasylepida ishigakiensis (Niijima & Kinoshita)
This beetle infests sugarcane fields in some parts of Japan. It only became a pest in the 1990s when large numbers of larvae were found damaging sugarcane roots in some southern islands. It can be managed by using pheromones.
