Cyrtepistomus castaneus (Roelofs) - (Asiatic oak weevil)
The weevil is native to Asia and has been recorded in North America since 1935. The larvae feed on the roots of Fagaceae and the adults on the foliage. In particular, oak trees are attacked, but also species like chestnut (Castanea).
