Conotrachelus psidii Marshall, 1922 - (guava weevil)

The weevil is found in South America. It is a pest of guava and breeds in the fruits. It can also attack some other fruits like pineapple guava or feijoa (Acca sellowiana). The female lays its eggs inside the young fruits and the larvae develop as the fruit matures.
