Cnephasia jactatana (Walker, 1863) - (black lyre leafroller moth)
This moth is a leaf roller endemic to New Zealand, where it infests various fruit crops like kiwi or avocado. It is of quarantine concern in other countries. The larvae feed on the leaves and the skin of the developing fruits.
The adult moth has a wingspan of around 20 mm with a brown to dark brown colouration and a characteristic black wavy mark on the forewing which creates a lyre-shaped image when the moth is at rest. The taxonomic placement of this species appears to be uncertain.
