The effects of crowding on the survival, rate of development, size, colour and fecundity of Dysdercus fasciatus Sign. (Hem., Pyrrhocoridae) in the laboratory
Bulletin of Entomological Research 58 (3), 487-504
Abstract: This work was designed to test the phase theory on the hemipteran cotton stainer, Dysderus fasciatus. Crowding increased the rate of development of nymphs but reduced fecundity and length of adult life, as in Schistocerca gregaria. In general, however, the results showed no distinct parallel with the phase differences of locusts.
