An experimental campaign with light aircraft against flying locust swarms in New South Wales
Bulletin of Entomological Research 49 (3), 497-508
Abstract: A campaign in New South Wales against flying swarms of Chortoicetes terminifera in 1955 is described. BHC in diesel oil was applied by aerial drift spraying from light aircraft, against rolling swarms over mainly open grassland with timbered creeks. The development of the technique and the economics of this campaign are discussed. The method is considered capable of wider application in Australia.
