Bradysia impatiens (Johannsen, 1912)
This species is a pest in greenhouses. It damages small plant roots and can transmit soil-borne diseases like Pythium and Fusarium. Economic losses on crops like cucumbers can be substantial (Sueyoshi & Yoshimatsu, 2019). Some mushrooms are also attacked. The life cycle from egg to adult can be as short as 21 days under suitable conditions.
