[Entomopathogenic fungi kill larval stages of Arge ochropus Gmelin.]
Bollettino dell Istituto di Entomologia (Guido Grandi) 52, 55-60
Abstract: An entomopathogenic epizootic caused by various fungal parasites kills and mummifies large amounts of larval stage individuals of Arge ochropus Gmelin in Emilia-Romagna (Italy) town rose gardens.
An atypical strain of Fusarium oxysporum and Fusarium solani are the most frequently occurring species in our samples. Aspergillus parasiticus may be observed in the same environment, too, but it's behaviour may be better interpreted as mycophilic or mycoparasitic rather than entomopathogenic.
