This cockroach is native to southern parts of South America but is actually found in many countries. It can be easily reared on cereal products and is sold as food for pet reptiles and amphibians. Sometimes, it is even kept as a pet. The cockroach has been reported from green houses in some countries and occasionally also from homes.
