Bessa parallela (parasitoid) (Meigen, 1824)
This tachinid fly is a gregarious endoparasitoid of Lepidoptera in East-Asia. For example, it will lay eggs on caterpillars of the apple ermine moth (Yponomeuta malinella) or the small white butterfly (Pieris rapae). The fly larva hatching from the eggs will enter the caterpillars and develop inside.
